Dear Frank B. Ferret
Does my ferret need vaccinations?
Frank Responds
Yes. I get vaccinated every year to protect me from rabies and canine distemper. Your ferret needs the same.
In addition, your veterinarian should examine your ferret at least annually, to identify little problems before they become big ones.
Older ferrets are susceptible to cancer as well as diseases of the adrenals, pancreas and heart, so they should be seen at least twice a year.
